The Beginning: An Idea Wrapped in Silk
Sometimes, inspiration comes from a runway. Other times, it’s from the way light hits a piece of satin at midnight. I start each doll with sketches — mapping her silhouette, color mood, and attitude. Then I select fabrics the same way a couturier would: draping, testing, and re-imagining them in 1/6 scale for Fashion Royalty doll clothes.
Each tiny stitch matters. The curve of a sleeve, the placement of a gem, the way a train falls over her heel — these details are where imagination becomes tangible.
The Face: Painting Emotion, One Layer at a Time
Every OOAK face is a meditation. Using ultra-fine brushes, I layer up to ten coats of paint and pastel to give each doll a lifelike gaze. Her makeup is not just beauty — it’s mood. Some carry defiance. Others, serenity. But no two ever repeat.
Collectors often ask, “Can you recreate her?” The answer is always no. Like a human face, each repaint is born from a single emotion in a single moment.
Couture in Miniature
At Plastik Tiara, fashion becomes sculpture. The garments are fully tailored — lined, darted, and fitted like a couture gown, only scaled to fit a 12-inch doll. Some pieces take days to finish. Others, weeks. The challenge isn’t just making it small; it’s keeping the soul of high fashion intact.
